After adoption

Adoptive parents, birth parents and adopted persons are encouraged to contact our Adoption Services Queensland Unit if they need information and support at any time after an adoption.

We can provide information to assist you and help make contact with appropriate community-based support services.

Adoptive parents are also encouraged to contact us to discuss any difficulties that may occur after a child has been placed with them. We may arrange for support to be provided to help the family work through any difficulties in the placement, or assist with a referral to an appropriate specialist service if required.
