Learning objectives
The learning objectives of Module 6 are:
- to understand the issues of parenting a child from a different cultural background from your own
- to explore the barriers in assisting an adopted child to understand, respect and acknowledge their cultural identity
- to understand the factors that contribute to an adopted child's sense of identity
- to understand the ways in which adoptive parents can assist their child in building a healthy and positive self-esteem.
