Rural and remote incentives

Are you yearning for wide open skies and breathtaking landscapes? Working in rural and remote areas of Queensland could bring the lifestyle change you are searching for.
What are the work benefits?
We offer excellent incentives to people who are willing to work in rural and remote locations to promote and support child protection services in these communities.
Work incentives and benefits include:
- an annual bonus payment of $10,000 gross for full-time rural and remote staff serving in designated locations (payable at six-monthly intervals).
- the flexibility for staff to allocate their bonus payment according to their personal preferences and needs.
- access to $3,000 per year for eligible staff towards learning and professional development activities.
- up to three years accommodation assistance for eligible staff.
- priority transfer provisions for rural or remote staff once they have completed the minimum rural and remote service. This means staff from rural and remote locations will be given priority for placement in a location of their choice once they have completed the minimum qualifying period.
- up to 10 days additional leave per year in certain locations.
- a fortnightly locality allowance.
- access to the department's online induction program and specialised training and support programs, including cultural competence training.
- opportunities for improvement and advancement.
Further details on these incentives are outlined in our Rural and remote financial incentives policy and our Transfer-at-level policy. Contact our Child Safety Officer Recruitment Team if you would like a copy of these policies.
