Organisation structure

The Department of Child Safety organisational structure (PDF 61 kB) Updated 2 September 2008 is a decentralised model aligned to meet the needs of vulnerable children and young people.

The department consists of four key divisions:

Child Safety Services Division
Supports, assists and monitors the performance of child protection services provided to children and their families through our child safety service centres.
Policy and Programs Division
Supports the delivery of child protection services through the coordination of policy, strategic and operational planning, program development, legislation development and review, performance monitoring and evaluation, and research services.
Service Delivery Partnerships Division
Supports the delivery of child protection services through developing partnerships with government agencies and community organisations. In particular, the division is responsible for developing capacity in the delivery of child protection services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.
Corporate and Executive Services Division
Supports the department through the provision of professional services and systems including finance, human resources, information and assets, corporate communication, legal services and freedom of information services.
