Our vision
Safe, confident children and young people who are valued by society.
Our role
The Department of Child Safety is the Queensland Government's lead agency for child protection and adoption services.
We protect children and young people who have been harmed or who are at risk of harm, and secure their future safety and wellbeing.
Our values
We value:
- Children - we are committed to the safety of children and young people. Their best interests and rights are paramount in all of our decisions.
- Accountability - we take responsibility for our actions, act ethically and manage our resources effectively and efficiently.
- Respect - we take pride in the often difficult work we do to protect children and young people. We support and respect our staff and our child safety partners.
- Excellence - we support continuous quality improvement and are open to new ways to improve our services to children, young people and their families. We learn from our experiences and celebrate our successes.
