Placement Agreements
A Placement Agreement is a written agreement between our department and carers for a child or young person in an out-of-home care placement.
It provides relevant information that we know about the child or young person, and sufficient information to allow the carers to provide adequate care and ensure the safety of the child or young person, the carers and other members of the carer's household.
It also records the agreed support and services to be provided to the carers.
The agreement is negotiated prior to the child or young person's placement and establishes the roles and responsibilities of each of the parties in achieving the goals of the placement.
This includes identifying any specific financial or other supports to be provided to the carer to assist them to care for the child.
