Purpose
The purpose of this funding is to enable non-government organisations to provide the following residential care services:
Brisbane Region
- Cannon Hill area to provide four places for young people aged 12-17 years with complex support needs, including flexibility for sibling groups.
- Inala / Forest Lake area to provide four places for young people aged 12-17 years with complex support needs.
North Queensland Region
- Mount Isa area to provide six emergency places for young people aged 0-17 years with high to complex support needs, including flexibility for sibling groups.
- Townsville area to provide six emergency places for young people aged 12-17 years with complex to extreme support needs, including flexibility for sibling groups.
South East Region
- Beenleigh / Yatala area to provide four emergency places for young people aged 12-17 years with complex to extreme support needs
- Carrara area to provide four places for young people aged 12-17 years with complex support needs, including flexibility for sibling groups
South West Region
- Ipswich area with two or more services to provide a total of eight places for young people aged 12-17 years with complex to extreme support needs.
Target clients
The primary target clients for the services are young people aged between 12 and 17 years with high to extreme support needs referred by Child Safety Services who are in need of protection and requiring out-of-home placement services. The target clients for the Mount Isa service will be Indigenous children and young people aged 0-17 years in recognition of the specific client profile and service delivery requirements in that remote locality.
