Purpose
The purpose of this funding is to support the establishment and ongoing operations in the provision of Recognised Entity functions from and within Indigenous communities in the Lockhart River, Coen, Mount Isa, Palm Island, Doomadgee and Normanton areas.
Recognised Entities will be set up specifically to provide input into decisions about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people who come into contact with the child protection system in order to influence the provision of culturally appropriate services to them.
Target group
The client group for services are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people under 18 years subject to child protection statutory intervention and their families.
