Networks and peak bodies

CREATE Foundation

CREATE Foundation (formerly known as the Australian Association of Young People in Care) is a national organisation with offices in every state, expressly established to advocate for children and young people in care. CREATE Foundation connects with and empowers children and young people in care and seeks to improve the 'care system' through activities, programs, training and policy advice. CREATE Foundation performs an important role in providing an avenue for feedback from children and young people regarding their 'care' experiences and recommendations for change. CREATE Foundation receives triennial funding from our department.

Foster Care Queensland

Foster Care Queensland provides support and advocacy to foster and kinship carers throughout Queensland including recognition of long serving carers and promotion of the value and benefits of foster care. FCQ receives triennial funding from our department.

Peakcare Queensland

PeakCare Queensland promotes excellence in the development and delivery of non-government services for the protection and care of children and young people and the support of their families. PeakCare is managed by a Board of Governance. Members of PeakCare are service providers across the child protection continuum from family support to child placement. PeakCare receives triennial funding from our department.

Pyjama Foundation

The Pyjama Foundation is a Brisbane based not-for-profit organisation providing early intervention programs for children in out of home care in Australia. The Pyjama Foundation receives triennial funding from our department and the Department of Education, Training and the Arts to provide the 'Love of Learning' program to children in care. Volunteers ('Pyjama Angels') are recruited and trained to act as reading mentors to children by targeting literacy and self-esteem issues through reading to children and involving them in related activities.

Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Partnership (QATSICPP)

QATSICPP's mission is to develop policies and strategies to lead, resource and build the capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander agencies who work alongside parents, families and communities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
