The Child Protection Statewide Partnership Taskforce held its 7th meeting on 15 February 2005 in Brisbane. The Taskforce, chaired by the Deputy Director General, Department of Child Safety and comprising representatives from Queensland Government agencies and the non-government sector, held discussions on matters relating to the child protection system and the Blueprint for reform.
This Communique provides some of the outcomes of these discussions.
1. Recruitment
Penny Creamer (Principal Planning and Partnership Officer) and Janeen Miesch (Central Zone Planning and Partnership Officer) have commenced.
2. Alternative care - Presentation by Michael Walsh
- Folders of background papers distributed and an overview of each paper presented.
- Paper Alternative Care Service Planning in Queensland circulated to focus the discussion on the key issues.
3. Evaluation framework - Presentation by Marion Norton
- The evaluation logframe was developed for the evaluation of the CMC recommendations (6.9 to 6.12).
- Data collection will need to start in the near future to establish a benchmark.
- An out of session endorsement of the framework will be sought from Taskforce members.
